Delta Air Lines has announced that it will be adding a new non-stop service from Hong Kong to Seattle. Subject to government approval, operations will commence on June 18, 2014.
From the West Coast US city, the airline and its subsidiary Alaska Airlines provide connections to some 50 domestic destinations, including Los Angeles, Las Vegas and San Francisco.
Delta has stated that the new service is an important enhancement to the airline’s trans-Pacific network between Asia and the US. The route complements another existing non-stop service from Hong Kong to Tokyo-Narita, which offers connections to eight US gateways.
The service will be operated using a 234-seat Airbus A330-200 aircraft, and will feature a three-class configuration. There will be 34 full-flat bed seats in Business Elite, 32 seats in economy comfort, and 168 economy class seats.

With the new route added, Delta will be serving 17 destinations in the Asia-Pacific region via the gateways of Detroit, Seattle and Los Angeles, as well as its regional hub of Tokyo-Narita.
