Zest Air has just issued a statement informing the public that the Civil Aviation Authority Of The Philippines (CAAP) suspension imposed on it last week has been lifted.
According to the CAAP, Zest Air had violated several safety regulations, including refuelling with passengers on board, failing to check aircraft log books and exceeding permitted flying time (see story).
In its statement today, however, the airline reiterated that none of the issues raised by the CAAP were related to the safety and stability of its 11 A320 aircraft, but were procedural and technical matters that have since been addressed.
The Philippine carrier will be resuming all international flights to and from Manila to China, South Korea, Malaysia and to domestic destinations of Kalibo (Boracay), Cebu, Davao, Iloilo, Bacolod, Tagbilaran, Tacloban, Cagayan de Oro and Puerto Princesa (Palawan) as soon as inspection of all aircraft has been completed.
The airline has also confirmed that passengers who were affected by the disruption of services would be offered either re-accommodation to other flights, a complimentary move or a full refund on request.
