Hilton Worldwide has opened the first Waldorf Astoria hotel in the United Arab Emirates.
The 346-room Waldorf Astoria Ras al Khaimah, which has an Arabian theme, is located in Al Hamra, west of Ras al Khaimah and a 40-minute drive from Dubai International Airport.
It also features four restaurants, six "dining/entertainment venues", a 350-metre private beach, spa, a number of swimming pools and an 18-hole championship golf course.
The hotel was originally scheduled to open in late 2011 (see online news, March 2011).
John T A Vanderslice, global head of luxury and lifestyle brands for Hilton Worldwide, said: "Waldorf Astoria Ras al Khaimah will become a destination of choice for discerning travellers seeking refined style, flawless service and sumptuous comfort."
The new property joins Hilton Ras al Khaimah Resort & Spa, the Hilton Ras al Khaimah and the Doubletree by Hilton Ras al Khaimah.
