Starwood has added Athens' King George hotel to its Luxury Collection following a three-month renovation.
The property, which first opened in 1936, is located in Syntagma Square in the centre of the city's golden quarter.
It has 59 guest rooms and 43 suites, all with views of the Acropolis. A two-bedroom penthouse suite occupies the entire ninth floor and features a private terrace, swimming pool, private jacuzzi and private elevator access.

The restored ballroom can host up to 400 guests and can be divided into three separate rooms.
The renovation was led by Greek architect Alexandros K Samaras.
King George is the eleventh Starwood hotel in Greece and its eighth under the Luxury Collection brand.
Paul James, global brand leader of the Luxury Collection, said: "Greece remains one of the world's most mesmerising destinations, and we are pleased to offer our guests the opportunity to experience Athens through the illustrious lens of the King George.
"That Greece is our third largest market globally is a clear indication that the country’s rich culture, distinctive heritage and indigenous treasures make it a ‘must’ for our most discerning travelers."
