Tigerair has confirmed that it will be launching daily direct flights to Yangon from October, subject to regulatory approval.
The low cost carrier will become the third Singaporean airline – after Silk Air and Singapore Airlines – to fly direct to Myanmar. It has started to sell tickets online, with fares ranging between S$65 (US$52) to S$85 (US$67) excluding tax.
The service wil be operated by an A320-200 with a single-class configuration of 180 seats.
TR2826 will depart for Yangon on October 1 at 1700 from Singapore, and arrive at 1825. The return flight will depart Myanmar 40 minutes later at 1905, and touch down in Changi Airport Terminal 2 at 2335. This flight schedule will be applicable on all days except Saturday, when it will depart Singapore at 1200, and arrive in Yangon at 1330, before taking off again at 1420 and touching down at 1845 in the Lion City.
Yangon is becoming an increasingly popular travel destination, with airlines such as SIA, ANA, EVA Air and Qatar Airways alone launching flights to the region within the last year (see here).
