British Airways today flew its first Boeing 787 passenger flight.
More than 30 frequent fliers based in Scotland were rewarded with becoming the first BA customers to fly on the Dreamliner.
The special flight took off this afternoon from Edinburgh Airport for a round trip around the Highlands and Scottish islands.
Touchdown: BA's B787 lands at Edinburgh Airport this afternoon
BA's chief technical pilot Simon Scholey, who was behind the controls, said: "We're delighted that we can showcase the aircraft to customers in Edinburgh and give them the first experience of flying on British Airways' Boeing 787 Dreamliner."
Earlier in the day, BA showed off its aircraft to enthusiasts in Derby and Newcastle.
More than a thousand Rolls-Royce workers became plane spotters as the 787, fitted with Rolls-Royce Trent 1000 engines, flew over the company's Derbyshire site, side-by-side with a Spitfire.
The airline arranged the fly-by to thank staff for designing and building the engines.

The Dreamliner then landed at Newcastle International Airport, where regional media, invited guests and BA staff were given tours of the aircraft.
BA's B787 will begin flying direct from Heathrow to Toronto on September 1 and Newark, New York from October 1 (see online news, June 27).
