Turkish Airlines orders five more B777-300ERs

29 Jul 2013 by Clement Huang

Turkish Airlines has announced that it has finalised an order for five B777s, at US$1.6 billion list price. This is in addition to a previous order for 15 additional B777s.

Turkish Airlines’ long-term vision for the new B777s is to augment new and present routes with its current B777 line. The airline’s fleet currently features 12 B777s, the first of which was delivered in October 2010.

The airline's current B777s have 386 seats in a three-class configuration, but Turkish Airlines has stated that it will be removing Comfort Class (the airline’s premium economy brand) from the incoming B777s (see here), which will instead feature a two-class configuration, seating 349 – 49 in business and 300 in economy. The 12 B777s currently in operation will keep comfort class.
