Holiday Inn will open its third hotel in Rome by the end of the year.
The 229-room Holiday Inn Rome - Pisana will feature two restaurants, a lounge bar and seven meeting rooms.
It is located halfway between Rome City Centre and Rome Fiumicino Airport and will become an Intercontinental Hotel Group branded hotel in the last quarter of 2013.
Free wifi wil be available throughout the property.
Domenico Magnati, IHG's director of development for Italy, said: "The addition of this hotel to our portfolio of Holiday Inn properties in Rome is in line with our growth strategy for Europe."
IHG currently has 32 hotels in Italy, with another four due to open in the next three to five years.
It was recently announced that Qatar's first Holiday Inn hotel is to open in Doha in 2016 (see online news, April 30).
