China Eastern will increase services between Shanghai Pudong and the South Korean island of Jeju from twice to three-times daily starting July 26. The route was initially launched in April last year (see story here). Located off the southernmost tip of the Korean Peninsula, Jeju is famed for its natural beauty and moderate climate, and is a popular destination for leisure travel, as well as meetings and incentives.
Three different aircraft are deployed on the Jeju route: an A320-200 with eight business and 150 economy class seats; a B737-800 offering eight business and 144 economy class seats; and the larger A330-300, configured with 38 seats in business and 262 in economy. The smaller A320 and B737 aircraft will operate the vast majority of services, with the A330 flying the route only twice – on July 26 and 28.
