MAS to move Medan operations to Kuala Namu International Airport

22 Jul 2013 by Clement Huang

Malaysia Airlines has announced that it will be moving operations for its 14 weekly flights between Kuala Lumpur and Medan to Kuala Namu International Airport from July 25.

Kuala Namu International Airport will replace the currently used Polonia International Airport. Kuala Namu International Airport is the second largest in Indonesia after Soekarno-Hatta Airport in Jakarta. Also, the 70-year-old Polonia International Airport is already the fourth-busiest airport in the country after Jakarta, Bali and Surabaya, which is why, MAS says, it "received notification from authorities to operate from the newly opened airport."

MAS operates two daily flights from Kuala Lumpur to Medan. Flight MH860 departs KL daily at 0850 and touches down at Medan at 0850 local time. The second daily flight MH864 leaves KL at 1500 and arrives at Medan at 1500 local time.

The return flights depart Medan at 0930 and 1545, and arrive in KL at 1125 and 1740 respectively.
