Accor has announced it will open an Ibis Styles property in Birmingham.
The Ibis Styles Birmingham Centre hotel, which opens on September 6, is located on Lionel Street in the city centre and was previously a Holiday Inn Express.
It will be operated under a franchise agreement with Mitchells & Butlers Retail Ltd.
Thomas Dubaere, Accor's UK and Ireland managing director, said: "The hotel fits with our strategy of investing and opening in key city-centre locations across the UK and is a testament to Accor's strong development pipeline.
"We are well on track to achieving our target of 10,000 new rooms by 2015."
In May, Accor told Business Traveller its plans for more than 150 upmarket Pullman hotels by the end of the decade, including up to ten in the UK (see online news, May 28).
Accor currently operates 197 hotels across the UK and Ireland.
