5 Jun 2013 by GrahamSmith

Norwegian has announced it will break-in its new Dreamliner on several European routes this summer.

The B787 will be used on journeys from Oslo to London Gatwick, Alicante, Malaga, Nice and Barcelona between July 4 and August 4. It will then graduate to long-haul services.

The airline is scheduled to take delivery of its first Boeing Dreamliner at the end of this month.

During the month from July 4, the B787 will fly between Oslo and Malaga on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday.

It will fly from Oslo to Alicante and Barcelona on Mondays and Fridays, and between Oslo and London Gatwick on Thursdays and Sundays.

Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Saturdays will see the B787 flying on Norwegian's Oslo to Nice route.

Passengers who have already booked tickets on these flights will receive information from Norwegian via email about the Dreamliner replacing the previously scheduled B737.

The carrier currently has eight 787 Dreamliners on order, three of which will be delivered in 2013, four in 2014 and one in 2015.

Norwegian has signed an agreement to lease two Airbus A340-300 long-haul aircraft that will be used on intercontinental flights until the Dreamliner enters service.

Last November, it was revealed that Norwegian plans to run its B787s to Bangkok and New York, from both Oslo and Stockholm (see online news, November 2012)
