The Hong Kong-based New World Hospitality hotel group has announced it will change its name to Rosewood Hotel Group, just three years after the group rebranded itself to New World Hospitality (see story here).
Rosewood Hotel Group consists of three brands: New World Hotels, the trendy lifestyle brand Pentahotels – which can be found in Shanghai, Beijing and soon Hong Kong (see story here) – and the luxury brand Rosewood Hotels and Resorts, which the group acquired in 2011 (see story here).
“As Rosewood is the group’s marquee brand, and the one whose properties are most widely represented geographically, we feel it is more appropriate for the company to adopt the Rosewood name,” explains Sonia Cheng, chief executive of the hotel group.
In total, the group’s portfolio consists of 40 hotels around the world, of which 18 belong to the Rosewood collection, including the iconic Carlyle Hotel in New York. Later this year, the Rosewood Hotel and Resorts brand footprint is set to expand with new properties in Abu Dhabi, London and Beijing and the group aims to double its portfolio in the next five years.
