Heathrow to provide free wifi from Saturday

28 May 2013 by GrahamSmith

Heathrow airport is to offer all passengers free wifi from Saturday.

The London hub will offer online access without charge for 45 minutes per calendar day across all five terminals.

Heathrow Rewards cardholders will receive 90 minutes of free browsing.

Passengers who want to surf the web for longer can do so, but will then have to select one of a range of pay-as-you-go options for continued access.

Last month, Qatar Airways announced that all its A350s and A380s will offer a mobile phone and wifi signal via global IT solutions provider On Air (see online news, April 8).

When this is complete the carrier will offer connectivity onboard 150 aircraft, as it already provides the service on its A320s and B787s.
