Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai opens its doors

22 May 2013

After taking over the Gran Melia Hotel Shanghai back in 2010, the Kempinski Hotels group has unveiled the property’s rebranded avatar – the Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai.

Though the Kempinski group already has a presence in Shanghai with THE ONE, which opened early last year (see story here), that property is a serviced residence offering, which would make the 678-room Grand Kempinski Hotel Shanghai the group’s first hotel in the city.

Located in the prominent financial area of Lujiazui within the Pudong district, the hotel is approximately 45 minutes away from the two airports. As can be seen in the picture above of a deluxe room, all the rooms are decked out with modern décor and dark palettes and consist of complimentary wifi internet access and iPod docking stations.

The property consists of three bars and four restaurants offering guests Chinese, Italian and Spanish cuisine, as well as a spa and gym.
