Swiss International Air Lines is launching a new daily non-stop service between Singapore and Zurich. The flight LX179 will take off from Singapore Changi Airport Terminal 2 today, operated by an 219-seat A340-300 aircraft in three-class configuration.
The aircraft's business cabin features adjustable-air-cushion seats that convert into two-metre-long lie-flat beds. Chief executive of the airline Harry Hohmeister said: “Our double-night service perfectly complements our Star Alliance partners’ offer and we are delighted to now bring the best of service, products and hospitality from Switzerland to Singapore.”
The flight departs the Lion City at 2310 to arrive in Zurich at 0610 the following day, which allows onward connections to 35 European destinations. The eastbound leg, LX178, takes off from Zurich at 2245 for a 1715 arrival.
