Avis has become the first car rental firm to operate a base within Heathrow T5, building on its partnership with British Airways and sister carrier Iberia.
Several car rental companies have desks at T5, but until now customers have had to catch a bus from the terminal building to car pick-up locations.
The new Avis base is located on level four of the short stay car park at T5, and is open daily from 0500 to midnight.
Avis says that customers will save an average of 15 minutes as they will no longer need to transfer by bus to pick-up locations at other Heathrow terminals.
The new base offers a full range of Avis vehicles, including those in its Select Series and Prestige portfolios, and also accommodates Avis Preferred benefits including guaranteed upgrades and vehicle availability for Avis Preferred First Plus members.
BA Executive Club members earn three Avios per £1 spent with Avis, with a minimum of 500 Avios per rental, free additional driver with every rental, and bonuses including 750 Avios when renting four times of more in one year.
