Turkish Airlines will recommence flights between Istanbul and Kuala Lumpur from April 25, the first time the carrier has served the Malaysian capital in over a decade.
The airline first launched flights to Kuala Lumpur in 1987, before signing a codeshare agreement on the Istanbul-KL route with Malaysia Airlines in 1999, and then dropping its own flights between the two cities in 2002.
Turkish continues to codeshare with MAS on the route, but from April 25 will launch its own service, initially operating three times per week, with flights departing Istanbul on Monday, Thursday and Saturday at 0115, landing into KL at 1650.
The return leg will then leave the Malaysian capital at 2315, arriving back into Istanbul at 0535 5the following day. The service will move to four times-weekly from June 17.
The route will commence just days after Air France launches its flights from Paris to Kuala Lumpur on April 22 (see online news October 25, 2012).
