Ascott offers free internet access worldwide

5 Apr 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Serviced residence operator The Ascott Ltd has become the latest hospitality group to offer guests free internet access at its properties worldwide.

Guests now benefit from free access when booking Best Available rates at over 100 properties under the Ascott, Citadines and Somerset brands.

The group says that wifi internet is now available in “most apartments”, and will be rolled out to all apartments by the end of this year.

Announcing the move Ascott’s CCO Tony Soh said:

“Connectivity is vital for our guests. Many of them carry at least one mobile device and use wifi, and this trend has been increasing every year. Providing free internet and wifi will enable them to stay connected at all times.

“We will be progressively boosting bandwidth to meet the increasing data demand by our guests. This is part of Ascott’s continuous pursuit of product and service excellence to enhance customer experience.”

The new comes in the same week that serviced apartment and residences group Frasers Hospitality also introduced free internet access across its properties worldwide (see online news April 5).

Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) also recently announced plans to offer free internet access to all loyalty scheme members from next year (see online news March 26).
