Waldorf Astoria debuts in Panama

20 Mar 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Hilton's Waldorf Astoria has opened its first property in Panama, marking the debut of the luxury brand in Latin America.

Waldorf Astoria Panama is located on the corner of Calle Uruguay, the city's bustling entertainment and restaurant area, and close to the city centre and financial district.

The hotel features 130 rooms and 118 serviced residences, with features including 42-inch flatscreen TVs, Nespresso coffee machines and “spacious marble bathrooms with walk in rain showers”.

There are four restaurants and bars including lounge and sushi bar Ginger, and all-day dining Brio Brasserie, as well as facilities including an outdoor swimming pool with mosaic gold tiles, a 2,000 square foot spa, and 3,500 sqm of events space with three meeting rooms, a ballroom and a business centre.

The Panama property follows the announcement of the first Waldorf Astoria in Doha, slated to open in 2016 (see online news March 6), and the debut of the brand in Germany earlier this year (see online news January 3).
