Bmi Regional to launch Birmingham-Billund route

Bmi Regional has announced it will start flying between Birmingham and Billund from June 3.

The carrier will offer a six times-weekly service, departing Birmingham at 0700 (Monday to Friday) and 1200 (Sunday), arriving into the Danish town at 0940 and 1440 respectively.

The return leg will leave Billund at 1010 (Monday to Friday) and 1510 (Sunday), landing back into Birmingham at 1100 and 1600 respectively.

The Danish town is home to Legoland Billund which opened in 1968, and which is located next to the headquarters of the Lego Group.

Ryanair currently offers flights from London Stansted to Billund, while BA Cityflyer operates from London City. Sun Air of Scandinavia also offers flights from Manchester to the Danish town, operating as a franchise service in British Airways colours.

The Birmingham-Billund route adds to forthcoming Bmi Regional services from Birmingham to Gothenburg, Lyon and Toulouse, which will launch on May 13 (see online news January 25).
