Doubletree to add three UK hotels

7 Mar 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Hilton’s Doubletree brand has announced three more UK hotels are to join the portfolio, with converted properties in Bristol, Edinburgh and Nottingham.

Formerly a Jarvis hotel, the Doubletree by Hilton Bristol City Centre will be rebranded this spring after a multi-million pound renovation project. The property is located a quarter of a mile from Bristol Temple Meads rail station, and features 201 rooms, a health club, the Arts bar and Kiln restaurant.

Meanwhile the 139-room Point Hotel in Edinburgh will become the Doubletree by Hilton Edinburgh City Centre, with features including a brasserie style restaurant, bar and top floor penthouse. The property will convert to the Doubletree brand this summer following “a period of significant investment and refurbishment”.

Finally the 106-room Nottingham Gateway Hotel will become the DoubleTree by Hilton Nottingham Gateway later this year, following refurbishment which will see the addition of a new swimming pool. The property is located on the A610 which links Nottingham to the M1.

The new additions will bring Doubletree’s UK portfolio to 25 hotels by the end of this year. The brand launched in the UK in 2008 with the DoubleTree by Hilton Cambridge (see online news February 2, 2008).

Doubletree recently added its first property in Ireland, a conversion of the renovated Morrison Hotel in Dublin (see online news January 3).
