Following a codeshare deal between Singapore Airlines (SIA) and Virgin America late last year (see story here), the two carriers have decided to deepen their agreement by tying up both their frequent flyer programmes for reciprocal benefits.
Under the agreement, Singapore Airlines’ PPS Club and KrisFlyer members can earn and redeem miles for all Virgin America routes.
The same benefit is available to Virgin America’s Elevate programme members on SIA flights.
Last year, SIA agreed to sell its 49 per cent stake in Virgin Atlantic to Delta and instead bought a smaller stake in Virgin Australia.
