Four Seasons to debut in Spain

4 Mar 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Luxury hotel group Four Seasons is to open a 215-room hotel in the Spanish capital.

Four Seasons Hotel Madrid will mark the group’s debut in Spain, and is scheduled to open “within the next four years”, with construction due to start at the end of this year.

The hotel will form part of the mixed use Canalejas complex, including Four Seasons-managed residences, a shopping centre and a parking for 500 vehicles.

There are limited details of the hotel at present, but Four Seasons says that “Following careful repairs, sensitive restoration and modern renovations, Four Seasons Hotel Madrid will be a social and business centre, a gathering place for Madrilenos and international visitors alike”.

The buildings comprising the complex are located next to the city’s famous Puerta del Sol, with frontages onto Alcala Street, Sevilla Street, Canalejas Square and Carrera de San Jerónimo.

Four Seasons currently operates 14 hotels in Europe, including London’s Canary Wharf and Park Lane properties.
