The Shilla Seoul undergoing overhaul

25 Feb 2013

Forty-year-old landmark hotel The Shilla in downtown Seoul, which has been closed for major renovation since last month, is set to reopen in the summer with a whole new look as well as cutting edge technology.

The Samsung-owned and Okura-managed property will reopen officially on August 1, with bigger rooms equipped with an "updated look" and the latest Samsung-based technology. The outdoor and indoor pools as well as the fitness centre will also be renewed to correspond with the more contemporary, sleek style that the hotel is taking on. A Korean restaurant will be added to the property's food and beverage offerings, and the club lounges – of which there were previously four – will be combined into one larger, more comprehensive product.

The hotel's website is also temporarily closed down during renovation.
