15 Feb 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Hilton Worldwide is to take over the management of four hotels in the Australian destinations of Darwin and Alice Springs.

The hotels currently operate under IHG’s Holiday Inn and Crowne Plaza brands, but from May 1 will convert to Hilton and Doubletree by Hilton properties.

The four hotels will be branded as The Hilton Darwin (formerly the Crowne Plaza Darwin), the Doubletree by Hilton Darwin (formerly the Holiday Inn Darwin), the Doubletree by Hilton Esplanade Darwin (formerly the Holiday Inn Esplanade Darwin) and the Doubletree by Hilton Alice Springs (formerly the Crowne Plaza Alice Springs).

Hilton currently operates properties in Australian destinations including Adelaide, Brisbane, Cairns, the Gold Coast, Melbourne, Perth, Surfers Paradise and Sydney.

The Hilton Sydney recently unveiled a revamped executive lounge, increasing the floor space by 60 per cent and adding private alcoves and a redesigned boardroom (see online news December 7, 2012).
