All Nippon Airways (ANA) will introduce a new range of premium wines, green teas and sake on international flights from March.
Business class passengers travelling between Europe and North America will be served wines developed between ANA, the southern French winery Hecht et Bannier and master of wine, Ned Goodwin, until the end of August.
A new range of Japanese green teas will be served in first and business class. First class passengers can enjoy Gyokuro, brewed from early handpicked leaves from Shizuoka City, and in business class Yamecha tea will be served, blended from a combination of handpicked green tea buds and a powder tea from Yame City, Shizuoka Prefecture.
ANA will also offer a sake produced by Iwaki Kotobuki Junmai, which was first brewed in Namie, Fukushima Prefecture, a region greatly impacted by the earthquake and tsunami of 2011. This sake will be offered on all first and business class flights to Europe and North America from March, as well as business class flights to Bangkok, Singapore, Jakarta, Delhi and Mumbai.
ANA won Best First Class Fortified and Sweet wine at Business Traveller's annual Cellars in the Sky awards last night for its W&J Graham's 30 Year Old Tawny Port, Douro, Portugal. To see the full list of winners, click here.
