Delta to open outdoor lounge terraces at JFK and Atlanta

29 Jan 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Delta is to open its first ever outdoor airport terraces at Atlanta and New York JFK airports.

Dubbed The Sky Deck at Delta Sky Club, the terraces are due to open this summer at Atlanta’s new international terminal and New York JFK’s Terminal 4.

Delta is partnering with American magazine Architectural Digest for the project, with the spaces being created by US designer Thom Filicia.

At Atlanta the new terrace will be located adjacent to the Delta Sky Club in concourse F, and will open “this summer”, while at JFK the carrier will open a rooftop terrace at the Delta Sky Club within the airline’s new $1.2 billion extension of terminal 4, which is scheduled to open in May.

Delta says the new terraces will “provide distinctive spaces with unprecedented outdoor runway views at two of the most globally significant airports in the world”, and will offer “the comfort, convenience and relaxation customers expect from the award-winning Delta Sky Club experience”.
