Macdonald Hotels to manage Swansea property

23 Jan 2013 by BusinessTraveller

Macdonald Hotels and Resorts has taken over the management of the four-star Dragon Hotel in Swansea’s city centre, the group’s first Welsh hotel since 2006.

The 106-room hotel features an 18-metre swimming pool, the AA Rosette-awarded Dragon Brasserie, and four meeting spaces including the Pembrey Suite accommodating up to 230 guests.

Located on The Kingsway within walking distance of Swansea railway station, the property will continue to be branded as The Dragon Hotel.

The hotel joins Macdonald’s portfolio of 45 other owned and managed properties within the UK and Europe, and is the group’s first Welsh hotel since it sold Cardiff’s Macdonald Holland House Hotel in 2006.

Last September Macdonalds Hotels and Resorts announced plans to invest £5 million into it hotel, conference and meeting facilities, including improving the bandwidth availability at its properties (see online news September 13, 2012).
