Qatar Airways has postponed the introduction of its Boeing B787 aircraft onto the Doha-Perth route next month, due to recent issues with the Dreamliner.
The carrier had been set to become the first airline to to operate scheduled Dreamliner flights to and from Australia from February 1 (see online news December 12, 2012), but has now postponed the move "In light of the current situation surrounding the 787 issues globally".
Dreamliner aircraft operated by Air India, ANA, Japan Airlines, LAN, LOT Polish, Qatar Airways and United Airlines have all been grounded this week, following concerns including the safety of onboard batteries (see online news January 17).
