Delta Airlines has unveiled the Fly Delta app for the iPad, which is the latest in a series of upgraded technology offerings that the carrier has been rolling out since September last year.
In addition to travel planning tools, destination guides and check-in functions, the iPad app also features a unique “glass bottom jet” feature that allows passengers to view the ground below in real time while connected to the wifi available on many of Delta’s domestic and long-haul flights (see story here).
This app revolves around the carrier’s newly redesigned website that was launched in November last year, which consists of the My Delta and My Wallet functions to keep track of passengers’ account details, preferences and payment information. More website enhancements “will be available through a series of scheduled deployments in the first half of 2013,” alongside an updated version of the Fly Delta app for Android.
