IHG has signed a franchise agreement with Paragon Hotels to rebrand Edinburgh’s Roxburghe hotel under its Crowne Plaza offering.
Currently managed by MacDonalds Hotels, the property will be renamed the Crowne Plaza Edinburgh – The Roxburghe in the second quarter of this year.
The hotel has benefitted from a £7 million investment programme since 2008, with 199 rooms, the reception and lounge being upgraded.
The new agreement will see further investment in the bar and restaurant, as well as the refurbishment of the meeting areas and club bedrooms, with a new lounge being created.
The hotel is located on Charlotte Square, situated between George Street and Princes Street, and will become the seventh IHG property in Edinburgh.
Last year IHG opened the first Hotel Indigo property in the city – for a review click here.
