Minor Hotel Group, operator of brands such as Anantara and Avani, has opened the first Oaks property in Asia after having taken ownership of the brand in 2011.
The new Oaks Bangkok Sathorn is the brand’s 41stproperty, with the rest of the portfolio consisting of a range of hotels, resorts and serviced apartments in Australia, New Zealand and Dubai. The brand aims to provide accommodation for "the smart traveller" at both central business district locations and resort destinations.
Oaks Bangkok Sathorn is located within a twin tower complex shared with the Anantara Bangkok Sathorn along Sathorn Road, which is a short walk away from Bangkok’s Bus Rapid Transit (BRT) and Chong Nonsi BTS station. This property consists of 115 studio, one-, two- or three-bedroom units ranging from 38 sqm to 185 sqm. Despite being a service apartment property, guests have the short stay option for a minimum of one night.
Facilities at the property, shared with Anantara, include an infinity pool, tennis court and wifi internet access, which is complimentary in the hotel’s public areas. Oaks guests can also take advantage of the dining options at the Anantara Bangkok hotel, which consists of a rooftop restaurant, Signor Sassi, and two other all-day dining outlets.
Following this opening, the group will open China’s first Oaks property in Sanya by the end of next year.
