Singapore Airlines signs codeshare with Virgin America

14 Dec 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Singapore Airlines has signed a new codeshare deal with Virgin America, which will see SIA place its SQ code on the US carrier’s domestic flights from LA and San Francisco.

From December 19 SIA will codeshare on routes from the carrier's West Coast gateway cities to Chicago, Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Palm Springs, Philadelphia, Portland, San Diego, Seattle and Washington DC.

The news is the latest in a series of recent announcements from Singapore Airlines in regard to the various Virgin-branded airlines worldwide.

This week SIA confirmed it is to sell its 49 per cent stake in Virgin Atlantic to Delta (see online news December 11), and in October the carrier bought a ten per cent stake in Virgin Australia (see online news October 30).
