Qatar Airways will become the first airline to operate scheduled Dreamliner flights to and from Australia next year, when it introduces its B787 on the Doha-Perth route next year.
Qatar Airways launched three times-weekly services to Perth in July this year, before stepping up frequencies to daily at the beginning of December (see online news July 2).
From February 1 the Dreamliner will operate on flight QR900, departing Doha at 0130 and arriving in Perth at 1720, with the return leg QR901 leaving Perth at 2245 and landing back into Doha at 0510.
Qatar took delivery of its first Dreamliner last month, and now has three B787 aircraft in its fleet, featuring the carrier’s new fully-flat business class product (for a review of this seat carried out on the delivery flights between Seattle and Doha, click here).
The carrier is set to launch Dreamliner services between London and Doha tomorrow (December 13), and Business Traveller will be attending a launch event at Heathrow airport to celebrate the occasion.
