Flybe launches automatic check-in

6 Dec 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Flybe has launched an automatic check-in option, with customers able to opt in for the service when they purchase their ticket online.

Those choosing automatic check-in will automatically be either emailed their boarding pass or have it sent straight to their smartphone between 36 and 15 hours prior to departure, removing the need to return to the carrier’s website to check-in before the flight.

Note that the service is valid for new bookings for travel from December 12, and is currently only available at selected (unspecified) airports – Flybe says it will be “busy rolling out [the service] at more airports over the coming months”.

In September BA announced a similar initiative, with trials taking place on selected services departing French airports (see online news September 25).
