Traders Hotel Brisbane gives out Samsung Galaxy 2

Traders Hotel Brisbane is currently offering a Stay Connected package that gives guests a one-night stay in one of the recently renovated deluxe rooms and a Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 to take home – all for the A$459 (US$481) retail price of the tablet, including service and tax. The offer is valid until 31 December 2012.

Guests will be presented with the brand new 16GB wifi-enabled tablet upon check-in, and since the hotel offers free wifi throughout, guests can connect straight away and surf the web, make voice and video calls and play flash games and videos.

Getting Internet access while on the road is no longer a rarefied luxury. We understand that travellers, whether business or leisure, need to be connected, said Bruno Cristol, general manager of Traders Hotel, Brisbane.

Offering free internet to all staying guests is part of Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts group-wide initiative launched in 2009, and it now covers all 75 Shangri-La, Kerry and Traders hotels and resorts. Click here for a round up of hotels that offer free wifi throughout.

Traders Hotel Brisbane is Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts’ group’s first property in the Australian city, and the first Traders-branded hotel in Australia. The mid-range brand has locations in many business hubs around Asia and the Middle East, and it boasts “smart functionality” and “the warmth and sincerity of Asian hospitality”.

The 191-room Brisbane property opened in early August this year after undergoing rebranding. It was formerly the Holiday Inn Brisbane (see story here). It has one food and beverage outlet – MJ’s Restaurant and Bar – serving modern Australian cuisine, a rooftop gym and comprehensive meeting facilities. It is located next to the Brisbane Transit Centre and is only a short walk from the central business district and the cultural and entertainment precinct of South Bank.

It is Shangri-La Hotels and Resorts group’s third property overall in Australia including properties in Sydney and Cairns.
