Emirates is to upgrade its evening service from Glasgow to Dubai to a B777-300ER aircraft from January.
The carrier introduced the second daily service between the two airports in June this year (see online news June 3), which it currently operates with an A340-300 aircraft.
From January 1 this flight will be upgraded to a larger B777-300ER, offering a total of 364 seats, as well as Emirates’ first class suites and angled lie-flat business class product.
The carrier’s lunchtime flight from Glasgow is already served with a B777-300ER aircraft.
Emirates says the introduction of the larger aircraft to its second daily service will add over 650 seats to the route each week.
The move follows the unveiling of Emirates as the Official partner of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games (see online news November 8).
