Fairmont Hotels & Resorts has just confirmed the opening date of Fairmont Makati as December 3.
As reported in June (see story here), the hotel is located in the heart of Ayala Commercial Center, a prime piece of real estate in Metro Manila with a mix of swanky malls and dining options. It is also within walking distance from the Philippine Stock Exchange and Ayala Museum. This Fairmont will share the location with an upcoming 32-suite Raffles property.
Fairmont Makati offers 280 deluxe rooms and suites, including Fairmont Gold, a "hotel within a hotel" club-floor concept. A joint effort by the architects of Arquitectonica and interior designers at Bent Severin International, the structure combines modern looks with rich, cultural characteristics of Filipino design with ample use of local materials such as coco-twig white resin, crushed mahogany seeds and abaca laminated glass. Each guestroom has floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city.
On the food and beverage front, Spectrum offers all-day dining of international cuisine from five "culinary theatres" surrounding the main, bar and lounge areas; Cafe Macaron offers pastry items and desserts, while the Lounge serves afternoon tea and after-dinner snacks. There will be a Long Bar at the Raffles property, similar to the legendary watering hole at Raffles Singapore.
For meetings and special events, Fairmont Makati offers 1,700 sqm of function space including a 900 sqm ballroom. There will be a Willow Stream Spa, the hotel group's signature brand, with a total area of 1,200 sqm including treatment rooms, hair salon, full-service nail studio, a mineral pool, an outdoor swimming pool and a terrace.
A special introductory package called "Seeing is Believing" is being offered from December 4 through March 31 next year, with guests staying three nights for the price of two. Rates start from US$239 per night, excluding taxes.
