Melia Hotels International is to open its first four-star Innside properties in Spain next year, both located in the country’s capital.
Melia acquired the Innside brand in 2007, and currently operates nine hotels in Germany, with properties under development in Copenhagen, Lisbon, Barcelona, Hamburg and Dusseldorf, and a UK hotel set to open in Manchester (see online news January 19).
The two Madrid hotels will be housed within renovated historic buildings, one on Plaza Alonso Martinez and the other on Calle Luchana close to Bilbao metro station.
The 65-room Innside Madrid Genova will be located on the Calle de Santa Egracia corner of Plaza Alonso Martinez, and will feature a library lounge and “creative Meeting spaces”.
Meanwhile the 43-room Innside Madrid Luchana will be situated on the corner of Calle Luchana and Francisco de Rojas, and will have a destination bar and rooftop with views over the capital.
Both properties are scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2013.
