Regal Airport Hotel offers self-service check-in counters

Hong Kong’s Regal Airport Hotel has introduced self-service check-in counters in its lobby, allowing passengers flying from Hong Kong International Airport with nine carriers to check in for their flights before leaving the hotel. 

The two counters, located next to the concierge on the hotel’s second floor, allow guests to check in and print boarding passes for flights with Air France, Cathay Pacific Airways, China Airlines, Delta, Dragonair, KLM Royal Dutch Airlines, Mandarin Airlines, Turkish Airlines and United Airlines.

The hotel says check in using the counters only takes about a minute to complete. Hotel staff are also available to offer help with the procedure.

Depending on the airline, guests may be able to check in up to a day in advance, a spokesperson for the hotel said. They then walk over to the airport at their leisure before the flight and only need to drop off luggage before passing through security. 

“We wanted to introduce the service so guests can be more flexible in using their time,” the spokesperson said. She said that many of the hotel’s guests were business travellers in transit through Hong Kong who might arrive late at night and leave the next morning, meaning this flexibility was important. 

Regal Airport Hotel is the only hotel directly connected to the Hong Kong International Airport terminal building.
