7 Nov 2012

A second storm is forecast to strike the New York region on Wednesday and Thursday this week resulting in more disruption to flights.

The US weather service is forecasting heavy rain and snow, along with gale force winds of up to 43 mph, on Wednesday and Thursday in the New York and New Jersey area.

According to Bloomberg, United Airlines will pare back its flights from noon Wednesday November 7 and noon Thursday November 8.

It reports that the airline will retain long-haul international service and flights to other hubs from Newark while halting other operations there and at New York’s LaGuardia and Kennedy airport.

Meanwhile, American Airlines will cut 290 flights with a New York pullback starting at 3 pm on Wednesday November 7, and Delta has said it is also expecting to suspend some flights.
