Holiday Inn Express Kowloon East opened today, the third of IHG’s limited-service Express brand hotels to open in Hong Kong.
The hotel is located in Tseung Kwan O, in the same complex as the Crowne Plaza Kowloon East, which opened last month (see here). It is directly above Tseung Kwan O MTR station which provides short links to the emerging business districts of Kwun Tong and Quarry Bay.

The hotel has 300 total rooms that measure between 20 to 22 sqm and include 149 standard, 120 standard seaview, 15 standard corner and 16 standard triple rooms.
All rooms have the expected basic facilities of the limited-service Holiday Inn Express brand, featuring an iHome docking station and work area with ergonomic chair, but lacking a minibar or laundry service.

Free wifi is available to guests throughout the hotel. Also included is a complimentary Smart Start breakfast which offers a choice of six dishes including Chinese options such as congee and western dishes such as scrambled eggs and bacon, served with juice, tea or coffee.
An extra facility not present in all Holiday Inn Express hotels is the Green Terrace on the eighth floor. This is a large outdoor space with sofas, fitness equipment, a self-service laundry, an internet corner, and snack vending machines.
The hotel is about a 40-minute drive or hour-long MTR journey away from Hong Kong International Airport.
