Eurowings to launch Cardiff-Dusseldorf route

11 Oct 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Lufthansa’s regional subsidiary Eurowings will launch a weekly Saturday flight between Cardiff and Dusseldorf on May 4 next year.

Business Traveller was alerted to the news by industry website airlineroute.net, and a check shows that tickets for the new summer seasonal route are now on sale at lufthansa.com.

Flight LH3464 will depart Dusseldorf on Saturdays at 1040, landing at 1115, with the return leg LH3465 departing the Welsh capital at 1150 and arriving back in Germany at 1425.

The one hour 34-minute flight will be operated by a CRJ900 aircraft.

The news follows today’s announcement by Lufthansa that its forthcoming budget European point-to-point carrier will operate under under the unified Germanwings branding (click here for more information).

The Eurowings subsidiary will continue to exist, but going forward will operate on behalf of Germanwings rather than Lufthansa.
