Swire Hotels has opened its second EAST brand property, located in the Chaoyang district of central Beijing.
The group says the hotel aims to provide a refreshing and contemporary approach to the business hotel experience.
The hotel has 369 rooms including 23 suites. The standard rooms measure 30 sqm and 35 sqm for corner rooms (323 and 376 sqft), while the suites are 70 sqm (753 sqft).
Urban View room
All rooms have international plug sockets, iPod and iHome docking systems, rain showers and complimentary internet access.
The club floor rooms and Park Studio suites also feature Nespresso machines and Elemis bath amenities.
Guests staying in these rooms have access to the Upstairs Lounge, where they are checked in when they arrive. This lounge provides iPads for guests to borrow, full breakfast and all day refreshments, evening cocktails, and wine by the glass from an Enomatic wine dispenser.
The gym at Beast
The hotel’s fitness centre, called Beast (Body by EAST), is open from 0600 to 2200 daily and features a gym and both an indoor and outdoor swimming pool.
There are three restaurants. Feast is a casual café-style all-day restaurant serving international food with an outdoor terrace. Hagaki specialises in Californian-inspired Japanese cuisine. Xian is a lounge bar and pub with snack food and an outdoor terrace.

The hotel is located in the Chaoyang district, the Chinese capital’s primary business district and home to numerous multinational companies. It is part of INDIGO, a new mixed-use development between the 4th and 5th Ring Roads which will contain a shopping mall, office space, and a 17-hectare park. It is also 15 minutes from Beijing Capital International Airport.

The hotel has an opening offer with the nightly rate for a standard room at RMB798 (US$126) plus 15 per cent service charge, lasting until the end of this year.
