Jet Airways suspends Chennai to Brussels flights

28 Sep 2012

Jet Airways is suspending its daily service between Chennai and Brussels from November 15 due to the ongoing economic downturn in Europe.

“In view of the current global economic scenario, including the ongoing Eurozone Crisis, Jet Airways has announced a redeployment of assets on its existing route network,” said a spokesperson for the airline.

“As part of the airline's ongoing network rationalisation, Jet Airways will temporarily suspend its existing operations on the Chennai-Brussels sector.”

The airline launched the route in October 2007. It has developed Brussels into a hub connecting flights from India with onward destinations in North America.

The spokesperson said Jet Airway’s routes from Mumbai and Delhi to Brussels and onwards to New York (Newark) and Toronto would continue to operate as scheduled.
