25 Sep 2012 by BusinessTraveller

United has taken delivery of its first Boeing Dreamliner, with the aircraft expected to fly to Houston later this week.

The aircraft will then begin a month-long training and certification programme, including several non-commercial flights to United domestic hubs.

The carrier’s inaugural commercial Dreamliner flight between Houston and Chicago is scheduled for November 4, departing at 0725 local time.

United has announced plans to fly the Dreamliner to London on a temporary basis from February 4 next year, and will also roster the B787 on to international routes including LA-Tokyo, LA-Shanghai, Houston-Lagos and Denver-Tokyo (see online news August 23).
