ANA to order 11 additional Dreamliners

21 Sep 2012 by BusinessTraveller

Japanese carrier ANA says it is placing an order for 11 B787-9 aircraft, adding to the 55 Dreamliners it already has on order.

The additional Dreamliners will be delivered between 2018 and 2021, and bring ANA’s total B787 orders to 66 aircraft.

The carrier is already the largest single customer of Boeing’s Dreamliner (not including the International Lease Finance Corporation which has 74 B787 aircraft on order). The integrated Dreamliner programme between Etihad Airways and Air Berlin totals 56 firm orders (see online news March 13).

ANA was also the launch airline for the Dreamliner (see online news September 27, 2011), and currently has 13 B787 aircraft in its fleet.

The carrier will launch a B787 route from Tokyo Narita to San Jose in January, and is also set to roster the Dreamliner on to its existing Narita-Seattle route from October 1, and on Tokyo Haneda-Beijing services from October 28.
