World Duty Free launches revamped store at Gatwick

World Duty Free has unveiled its redesigned walk-through store at Gatwick’s South Terminal, having invested £4 million redeveloping the retail outlet

The 2830 sqm store has been repositioned at entrance of the departure lounge, and has undergone a revamp to improve customer navigation, with a new walk-through design.

Its liquor department has been upgraded to include a tasting bar at the front entrance of the store, and customers can now buy premium and rare wines through the department’s new concept, Wine Collection- Rare and Vintage.

The 1086 sqm beauty department has also been redeveloped to include Chanel’s new ‘Espace’ concept, and the Dior and Biotherm counters have been redesigned. The department also includes several new brands including Laura Mercier, Kiehls, OPI, Sisley, La Prarie, Jo Malone, Bobbi Brown, Crème de la Mer, Philosophy and Bare Minerals.

The luxury department has also been refurbished, with the sunglasses area now featuring interactive iPad screens that allow customers to experiment with photographs of themselves wearing different sunglass styles, and share them on Facebook or Twitter.

In addition the confectionary department has been upgraded to include a ‘Tasting Event Column’ that allows customers to ‘try before they buy’.

Earlier this month Gatwick announced plans for a new Bloc hotel, to be housed within the converted Norfolk House office building at the airport’s South Terminal (see online news September 5).
