Hong Kong's Mira Hotel gets new shopping mall

13 Sep 2012

Mirimar Group, the group behind Hong Kong's Mira Hotel (see here), yesterday opened phase one of the new Mira Mall adjacent to the hotel, offering guests access to a range of fashion shops and restaurants without going outside.

The new mall, on the first and second floors below the hotel and accessible via its elevators, will eventually contain around 140 shops. Those currently open include Hong Kong flagship stores for the designer labels Coach and Tommy Hilfiger, Laura Ashley and K-Swiss stores, and a King Fook jewellery store.

It will feature the lifestyle store Collect Point, which sells different trendy, youthful fashion brands from Japan. This shop will have a chic café serving coffee and different sweet treats.

Also within the mall is a branch of the traditional Italian restaurant Assagio Trattoria Italiania. This will offer an extensive cold cut selection during the day and also serve pastries and coffee for breakfast.

A spokesperson for the group said that the new mall aimed to provide a more laid-back and stylish alternative to other shopping venues in the Tsim Shah Tsui area, adding that it would be especially convenient for hotel guests.

The hotel is already linked by a covered bridge to the Miramar Shopping Centre across the road. Felix See, the group chief operating officer, said he saw the area as a small Miratown, offering interconnected facilities.

The Mira Hotel, located in Hong Kong's Tsim Shah Tsui district, is a member of Design Hotels and aims to provide a stylish, design-focused place to stay in Hong Kong (Read a tried-and-tested of the hotel here).
